Walters State sophomore Sofia Gullion has been chosen for the Disney College Program and will spend spring semester at Walt Disney World.
Sofia Gullion, an education major, has been accepted by the Walt Disney World College Program.
She applied for the program in September and received her acceptance information in November. Around 20% of the college students who apply are selected for the unique internship.
69制片厂制作传媒淚 have always loved Disney and I have always wanted to work at Disney World,69制片厂制作传媒 Gullion said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚 submitted my application in September. My professors and advisors at Walters State were very helpful in planning for this semester at Disney.69制片厂制作传媒
Gullion will move to Orlando this month and be there through June 12. She found out last week that she will be working front of house at the Be Our Guest Restaurant, Disney69制片厂制作传媒檚 ornate Beauty & the Beast-themed French eatery located in the Magic Kingdom theme park.
69制片厂制作传媒淢agic Kingdom has always been my favorite park, and so the opportunity to work there is very exciting,69制片厂制作传媒 she said. 69制片厂制作传媒淔urthermore, to know that every day I work I69制片厂制作传媒檒l get to be at one of, in my opinion, the most gorgeous spaces on property, is pretty exciting. Since I69制片厂制作传媒檓 going to be away from home, it will be nice to work somewhere that also feels like home.69制片厂制作传媒
While she69制片厂制作传媒檚 at Disney, Gullion will still be a Walters State student. She69制片厂制作传媒檒l be taking two classes online needed to complete her Associate of Science in Teaching degree in May. She then plans to transfer to the University of Tennessee for fall semester.
Gullion has made the trip to Disney several times with her family. While her parents are happy for her new adventure, her younger siblings cried when they first learned that she69制片厂制作传媒檒l be away.
69制片厂制作传媒淟eaving my family and friends will be the hardest part,69制片厂制作传媒 Gullion said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚 have been in the concert choir here and I am a Senators Page. I felt bad about leaving both a person short, but everyone has been so positive and supportive.69制片厂制作传媒
She does plan to enjoy her surroundings when she69制片厂制作传媒檚 not working. She69制片厂制作传媒檚 a fan of all things Disney, but her favorites are Winnie the Pooh, Princess Tiana and the Little Mermaid. Her favorite Disney movie is 69制片厂制作传媒淯p.69制片厂制作传媒
