I69制片厂制作传媒檝e been downtown since 1982. For many years, you could go outside of your store and look down the street and there was nobody. Now, when you look out, there are people walking around. I remember back in the 69制片厂制作传媒�70s 69制片厂制作传媒� my dad worked over at Sterchi69制片厂制作传媒檚 and I was a food runner on Saturdays for all the salesmen. I69制片厂制作传媒檇 go downtown 69制片厂制作传媒� it was in the days before the mall 69制片厂制作传媒� and would have to dodge people. There would be hundreds of people walking down the street. It seems like the traffic is coming back.69制片厂制作传媒�

Randy added that he has noticed that even late at night there are a lot of people using the overhead sidewalks as a walking area, to which Chris responded that the upper sidewalks make for great photos 69制片厂制作传媒� 69制片厂制作传媒淎 lot of people are taking pictures. They come downtown for proms, formals, weddings. Some people get married downtown,69制片厂制作传媒� he said.

Rob Ingram (The LilyPad on Main, Qucin Computers, Toadily Studios) reported that quite a few weddings have been held at The Lily Pad, 69制片厂制作传媒渏ust because of the vibe of the downtown itself,69制片厂制作传媒� he said.

69制片厂制作传媒淚 really like the revitalization of businesses on the second floors, like 1907,69制片厂制作传媒� Erica Goode (East Tennessee Diamond) said, 69制片厂制作传媒渁nd the art gallery above Trinkets and Treasures. The fact that the businesses are investing there is really nice.69制片厂制作传媒�

So back to the comfort and joy. And the vibe.

Between the Bricks is an unusual name for an eatery, yet it hits right.

The sandwich shop opened in early May, with a crowd on the first day and a steady customer base growing in the months since. Partner owners April Cowan and Zachary Langley have created a vibe, not just a space. The friendly, talkative staff are willing to discuss the sandwich options listed on the large menu board 69制片厂制作传媒� orders are taken at the counter 69制片厂制作传媒� and customers don69制片厂制作传媒檛 seem to mind waiting should the conversation meander a bit.

There is certainly plenty to look at while in line - points of interest are scattered about the narrow space which was an actual alley back in the day. There are clues that lead you to the historical conclusion that this was once an open-air space between the neighboring buildings 69制片厂制作传媒� such as the faint outline of a staircase on the east-facing brick wall near the front door that once lead to a social club on the second floor of the neighboring building. The sign announcing the establishment (Royal Pressing Club) is visible, having been unearthed and restored several years ago by building owner Rob Ingram, along with a second sign on the opposite wall.

Once you are seated after ordering 69制片厂制作传媒� either at a table for dining, or maybe on the footed sofa near the door, if you69制片厂制作传媒檙e ordering takeout 69制片厂制作传媒� there69制片厂制作传媒檚 more time to take in the vibe: an intriguing tin ceiling, tasteful metal reliefs on the east wall and surrounding the prep area, framed artwork on the west wall, glass collectibles arranged with healthy plants of varying sizes (someone has a green thumb) along the prep wall and unique light fixtures that all meld together to create a warm, inviting space.

That warmth really sparks the appetite 69制片厂制作传媒� as well as the aromas coming from the panini machine. Oh, and there69制片厂制作传媒檚 specialty coffees, chai teas and signature drinks, like caramel apple cider. And in deference to the Mason-Dixon line, unsweetened tea can be ordered. Did I mention the potato salad? (There69制片厂制作传媒檚 pasta salad, too.) And those soups that Natasha mentioned are announced daily.

There69制片厂制作传媒檚 a turkey panini, the Gerky Turkey, that hearkens back to a former downtown Morristown coffee house and eatery the Java Garden (now Posh Medical Spa). Patrons of that establishment will recognize April 69制片厂制作传媒� she played an important role in its success until its closing. Also bringing back memories is the Portabello panini: the large mushrooms are cooked with a balsamic glaze, topped with roasted red peppers, onions, pesto, provolone cheese, feta, tomatoes and fresh spinach.

The desserts. Well. Between the Bricks is located on the north side of downtown (head east from the center crosswalk or west from Peavine Alley), at 142 West Main Street.

His fellow business owners voiced their vision for the next three to five years: More families. More vibrancy. More marketing. Between the Bricks understands the assignment.
