Wade A. Lane (Cornbread) (Blister) age 85, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Wade worked all his life to provide for his family. He never met a stranger and would do anything to help another. When not working he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trading. If you knew him you know he would rather trade than eat. It wasn69制片厂制作传媒檛 the item he was trading for it was the person to person experience that created many a friend. He retired from GE and then worked at Walters State Expo Center.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lane; parents, Jim and Zona Lane; brother, Bill Lane; sisters, Emma Baxley and Lou Pollard. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Betty Painter Lane; sons, Tony (Cindy) Lane, Tracy Lane, Clark (Kim) Lane, and Mark (Deborah) Lane; six granddaughters, Morgan (Will) Ellis, Mackenzie (Ben) Knisley, Madison (Colin) Kelley, Lacy (Cody) Swiertz, Lindsey (Seth) Paczkowski, and Rachel (Ethan) Daugherty; and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Mayes Mortuary with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Ben Knisley. Family and friends will meet Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
