After getting swept in the season series to CAK, Lakeway Christian took the one that mattered and downed the Warriors 47-44 on Saturday night to capture its first district championship in its program69制片厂制作传媒檚 young history.
The Lions handed CAK its first loss in DII-A District 1 play this season, and just its third loss overall. Not only that, but they beat the Warriors on their home court.听
Jaleel Ali led Lakeway with 18 points on the night, and Ivan Moskalenko added 14. Ali scored six of Lakeway69制片厂制作传媒檚 10 points to help the Lions secure the win.
CAK69制片厂制作传媒檚 Hunter Bennett was the lone double-digit scorer with 10 while Zachary Coffman and Foster Coleman had nine each.
After trailing 16-11 to end the first quarter, the Lions took a 26-25 lead at the break and a 37-34 lead at the end of the third before finishing the job in the fourth.听
Lakeway will host Collegedale in the first round of regions at 6 p.m.
