We missed a few shots and turned it over a few times in the third quarter. That allowed them to extend that lead. Bereket Evans led the Trojans with 16 points, including nine in the second quarter to keep West within striking distance. Fellow guard Juan Gallardo added 11 while Will DesGrossiellers and Julian Sexton had six apiece.

The difference in the game, however, was Martin for the Rebels. The Trojans had no answer for him, and he poured in 29 points while slamming in four dunks. Big Kevin Jack also added 14 and Jack Keith had 10.

The Rebels came out firing early with an 8-0 start early as the Trojans took some time to get comfortable.

Evans finally took the lid of the basket and Morristown West was able to make it a respectable 17-11 game before Knoxx West finished the first quarter up 19-11.

Gallardo cut the lead to 19-13 with a jumper, but the Rebels responded with a 6-0 run.

Evans once again took it upon himself to help the Trojans claw back in the game, and he went on a 9-0 run by himself to come within three points at 25-22. However, The Rebels went on a run to end the half to take a 32-24 lead, which seemed to be the nail in the coffin.

Morristown West was able to trim it back down to four early in the third quarter, but a Knox West 10-0 run seemed to take all life out of the Trojans.

After threatening to take control in the third quarter, Morristown West suddenly found itself down 57-37 late in the third quarter and never threatened again.

The Rebels continued to stretch its lead in the final frame and led by as many as 29 before the buzzer sounded.

The Trojans now prepare for a conference battle with crosstown rival East, who has struggled early this season. However, it will still prove to be a tough matchup for West due to the nature of the rivalry.
