GREENEVILLE69制片厂制作传媒擟ocke County captured sixth place in the Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic with a 42-33 victory over two-time defending Tennessee Division II Class 2-A state champion Knox Catholic on Tuesday.
It was the third tournament win in four games for the Lady Red who improved to 13-5 for the season. Catholic fell to 11-8.
The Lady Irish scored 13 in the first quarter and totaled only 20 in the other three as neither team shot the ball very well.
Cocke County made good on 12 of 51 for 29 percent. The Lady Red were 5 of 14 from three-point range. Catholic was even worse, hitting but 11 of 43 for 26 percent. The Lady Irish made 6 of 24 from behind the arc.
The Lady Red69制片厂制作传媒檚 Shakyra Reed was the only player in the game to reach double figures as she scored 10. Brooklyn Clevenger added nine and all-tournament selection Karmine Carmichael scored eight.
Amaya Redd scored nine and Maggie Frana eight for the Lady Irish.
Redd had seven rebounds as Catholic won the backboard battle, 23-21. Carmichael had five for the Lady Red.

The Lady Red did have a good lead. They were up 40-26 after Javin Campbell knocked down a three-pointer and Carmichael scored inside with 6:50 left in the game.
However, that would be the last field goal for the winners who didn69制片厂制作传媒檛 score again until Blakelyn Clevenger hit two free throws with 24 seconds remaining.
Catholic meanwhile got an inside basket from Redd and a three by Frana. Sydney English made one of two free throws with 2:56 remaining to close the margin to 40-32 and Redd added another charity toss at the 1:08 mark as Cocke County turned the ball over several times.
However, Clevenger69制片厂制作传媒檚 two free tosses sealed the victory.
Tinsley Walker hit two three-pointers in the first quarter and the Lady Irish scored the final five points to lead 13-12 at the break.
The Lady Irish got a three from Frana and a free throw from Redd as their only points of the second canto as Cocke County took a 20-17 halftime lead.
Catholic tied it at 20-20 before Reed hit a three from the corner and Carmichael added a pair of free throws. Brooklyn Clevenger69制片厂制作传媒檚 three made it 28-23 before Ariana Swains three for the Lady Irish.
But Cocke County scored the final seven of the third and first five of the fourth for their big lead before Catholic69制片厂制作传媒檚 frantic rally.
