On January 1, at approximately 8:57 p.m., deputies with the Hamblen County Sheriff69制片厂制作传媒檚 Office responded to a stabbing incident in north Hamblen County. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, Mark Waller, 57, deceased at the scene.
According to initial reports the suspect, Tristan Doan, 21, fled the scene on foot immediately following the attack.
Doan is the stepson of the victim.
A coordinated search between the Hamblen County Sheriff69制片厂制作传媒檚 Office and the Morristown Police Department using dogs and drones resulted in the suspect being located and apprehended.
In the early morning hours of January 2, Doan was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of first-degree murder.
He is being held in the Hamblen County Jail without bond.
