A one-vehicle crash Monday morning involving a Greene County Solid Waste truck resulted in fatal injuries to the driver.
According to a report from the Greeneville Police Department, at 9:22 a.m., Monday, officers responded to a crash at 800 East McKee Street at Winchester Drive. A 2014 Mack Trucks GU8, driven by Kenny F. Ricker, was traveling west on East McKee Street when the vehicle dropped off the edge of the roadway near the intersection with Winchester Drive.
The truck then came back onto the roadway and rolled onto its passenger side before striking a tree with the cab area of the truck on the opposite side of the roadway.
Ricker was extricated by the Greeneville Fire Department and Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad.
