With the advent of the Polar Vortex this weekend, a popular place for the homeless will take on an even more important meaning.
Since the opening of the Ministerial Association Temporary Shelter69制片厂制作传媒檚 warming station on Nov. 21, many people have taken advantage of its offerings.

Warming station operating hours are set for 8:30 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Saturday and again from 8:30 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.
Donations of individual snacks are needed for those using the warming station.
Last year, MATS partnered with Tennessee Valley Housing Services and lunch was fed by The Daily Bread Community Kitchen.

The warming station is open at the MATS shelter whenever the outside temperature reaches 32 degrees or below.
69制片厂制作传媒淭o use the warming station, people must register at the front office of the shelter,69制片厂制作传媒 said Taylor Pierce, MATS executive assistant, said.
Pierce also said that the shelter is offering shower use on nights the warming station is open, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. based on volunteer availability.
The shelter is seeking individually wrapped snacks, mop solutions and laundry pods, according to Pierce.
She said that the shelter has been the fullest in the last six to eight months due to various factors.
MATS is also seeking a weekend person who can work from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Saturday and Sundays. Those interested may fill out an application at MATS.
MATS has a rich history of serving Hamblen County, as well as eight surrounding Lakeway Area counties, and strive to continue this for many more years to come. Their purpose continues to be serving men, women and families experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, food, clothing and intensive case management with job readiness, budget coaching and soft skills. This helps to improve their chances of success by enabling people to navigate their environment, work well with others, perform tasks well and ultimately achieving their goal of sustainable income leading to permanent housing.
