Studies show that 31% of U.S. households struggle to pay the expense of meeting their energy needs. The Low-Income 69制片厂制作传媒 Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program that helps low-income households with their home energy bills.
The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency69制片厂制作传媒檚 LIHEAP Outreach RV will be throughout the Lakeway Area helping those needing assistance. Nationwide, LIHEAP provides energy assistance to roughly 6.7 million households.
This is a one-time benefit between Oct. 1, 2024 and Sept. 30, 2025. For those who qualify, a payment is sent directly to the recipient69制片厂制作传媒檚 utility company and is credited to their bill.
Payments can take up to 90 days to be applied. Priority is given to the low-income, energy burdened, disabled, elderly, homes with young children under 6, veterans, and large households.
The LIHEAP Van will be at the following locations in the Lakeway Area in January:
Jan. 16: 11 a.m., South Central Ruritan, located at 2639 TN State Route 107 in Chuckey.
Jan. 16: 2 p.m., Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, located at 5270 Chuckey Pike in Chuckey.
Jan. 23: 9:15 a.m., Greeneville Terrace Apartments, located at 406 Elk Street in Greeneville
Jan. 24: 10:30 a.m., McFerrin United Methodist Church, located at 117 Mountain View Road in Church Hill.
Jan. 24: 12:30 p.m. Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, located at 550 Independence Avenue in Mount Carmel.
Jan. 28: 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Church Hill Medical Mission Clinic, located at 401 Richmond Street in Church Hill.
Jan. 29: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Shepard69制片厂制作传媒檚 Center/Of One Accord Ministries, located at 306 East Main Street in Rogersville
Jan. 30: Hope Helps Allandale, located at 4050 West Stone Drive in Kingsport.
