United Way of Hamblen County Executive Director Gary Williams presents Morristown-Hamblen Central Services volunteer Faith Bauer with the Joe Q. Dougherty Award for Volunteer of the Year by the United Way Tuesday.
For the last 16 years, Faith Bauer has been dedicated and has worked tirelessly at Morristown-Hamblen Central Services.
Bauer was rewarded Tuesday as she was named the United Way of Hamblen County69制片厂制作传媒檚 Joe Q. Dougherty Volunteer of the Year for 2024.

Bauer69制片厂制作传媒檚 volunteer work started when former Executive Director Barbara Simmons asked her if she was interested.
69制片厂制作传媒淭hey can69制片厂制作传媒檛 get rid of me,69制片厂制作传媒 Bauer said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚 was asked to start preparing meals for the staff over Christmas. I love serving the community and helping the staff. Now it has become every Wednesday thing where I feed everyone, we gather and socialize, feed the Board of Directors.
69制片厂制作传媒淭hey will never get rid of me,69制片厂制作传媒 Bauer said.
Per the nomination introduction, Bauer constantly ensures the donation area is organized and processed, creating an efficient space that makes a real difference for those served. Her commitment for maintaining a neat and tidy area goes beyond mere appearance by enhancing the overall efficiency of the Changing Times Thrift Store, allowing staff to operate smoothly and ensuring that pricing reflects both the Agency69制片厂制作传媒檚 mission and the value offered to the community.
Bauer has truly embraced every role at Central Services, such as answering phones, working with the Angel Tree program, assisting in the Food Pantry and even cleaning a bathroom or two. She approaches each week with a servant69制片厂制作传媒檚 heart, often putting the needs of others ahead of her own.
Her love of cooking has become a special way for her to connect with the staff and Board of Directors of Central Services. She frequently creates delicious meals that nurture not only the body, but also the spirit. Bauer is a shining example of the impact a devoted volunteer can have on an organization and the community she serves.
The Joe Q. Dougherty Volunteer of the Year Award is sponsored by the United Way of Hamblen County, in memory of long-time United Way Volunteer Joe Q. Dougherty. This prestigious award, initiated by the American Enka Corporation in 1976, honors a person who voluntarily gives time above and beyond normal expectations to a participating United Way Agency or to the United Way itself.
