ALPS69制片厂制作传媒 Support Group allows caregivers to share, connect and heal. The group offers a safe and supportive community to share caregivers69制片厂制作传媒 experiences and connect with others who understand what they are going through.
Emily McIntire, board member and volunteer at ALPS, explained how their support group can help those caregivers.
69制片厂制作传媒淭his is open to anybody who cares for someone who needs a safe place to chat,69制片厂制作传媒 she said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚t is open to the community. It seems to be mostly caregivers with those with dementia.69制片厂制作传媒
McIntire has facilitated the support group since 2016. The group also offers a place where caregivers can offer guidance and support to other caregivers.
69制片厂制作传媒淭here are a lot of people with questions,69制片厂制作传媒 McIntire said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚t69制片厂制作传媒檚 interesting to see if one is struggling, they draw strength from hearing and listening to other ideas.69制片厂制作传媒
McIntire said that there are a lot of people who are stubborn enough to go at it alone until learning otherwise.
69制片厂制作传媒淚t69制片厂制作传媒檚 intriguing that some of the strongest people who can do it get the most out of it,69制片厂制作传媒 McIntire said.
The support group is a judgment-free space where one can share their stories, receive support, and connect with others who share similar experiences.

McIntire came to learn experiences as a caregiver when she cared for her father who had dementia and as an ALPS volunteer.
69制片厂制作传媒淚69制片厂制作传媒檓 a friend here who is trying to help others,69制片厂制作传媒 McIntire said. 69制片厂制作传媒淭here69制片厂制作传媒檚 room in this journey that no one should be on.69制片厂制作传媒
McIntire said that the journey of one with dementia is anywhere from six to 10 years.
69制片厂制作传媒淚t69制片厂制作传媒檚 such a process that it changes and evolves the person and the caregiver,69制片厂制作传媒 she said. 69制片厂制作传媒淧art of the group69制片厂制作传媒檚 makeup is having a safe spot to share, sometimes cry, laugh or find other ways to get through from day to day. The friendships born from this group can be sustaining and some friendships can grow past the meetings.69制片厂制作传媒
You never know who might be helped by your experiences, and you might just find the support and guidance you need. The meetings take place in person at ALPS, located at 600 North Daisy Street in Morristown. Those who can69制片厂制作传媒檛 come may join the meeting on the ZOOM platform.
