The Lady Trojans, specifically Mitchell, exploded in the first quarter and opened the game on a 10-0 run.

Powell finally scored its first basket with 3:30 on the clock before West ended on a 6-0 run to take a 16-2 lead heading into the second quarter. Mitchell scored half of the Lady Trojans69制片厂制作传媒� points in the frame, and all 16 of their points came in the paint.

Mitchell then added another bucket to open the second before the Lady Panthers began to adjust their defense inside. The Lady Trojans began to get open looks from deep but struggled to knock them down, allowing the Lady Panthers to chip away at the early lead.

Powell went on a 14-3 run to cut the West lead to 21-16. However, West was able to find the basket again late with a mini 4-0 run in the waning minute and take a 29-20 lead into the break, finally hitting its first jump shot in the process.

From there, the Lady Trojans heated up from deep in the third quarter thanks to Messer, who hit a pair of threes in the first three minutes to help her team retake control with a 37-23 lead.

Powell never threatened again as West led 45-30 to end the third quarter.

Just as Mitchell helped build an early lead, Weddington put the game on ice to close it out.

Weddington scored 11 of her 20 in the fourth as part of a 27-7 fourth quarter for the Lady Trojans.

West opened the final period on a 16-2 run in the first four minutes and never looked back.

Morristown West bludgeoned Knox West on Monday and lnow look forward to a matchup with cross-town rival Morristown East.
