Two Walters State students are the first in the college69制片厂制作传媒檚 history to be nominated for the prestigious Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship. The scholarship is named for the star of screen and stage best known for her role as Granny in 69制片厂制作传媒淭he Beverly Hillbillies69制片厂制作传媒 TV series.
Flynn Green of Sevierville and Liberty Richards of New Market were chosen after a festival representative saw them in the college69制片厂制作传媒檚 fall production of Neil Simon69制片厂制作传媒檚 69制片厂制作传媒淚 Ought to Be in Pictures.69制片厂制作传媒
The auditions are part of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). The regional festival will be held this month in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sixteen regional scholarships and two national scholarships are awarded annually. The regional award recipient will be chosen through three rounds of live performance.

The KCACTF seeks to encourage, recognize and celebrate the finest and most diverse work produced in college theatre programs, provide opportunities for participants to develop their theatre skills and insight; and improve the quality of college theatre productions.
