In his senior year, Wigfall led the Eagles with 921 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He also led the team in interceptions with six, was third on the team in tackles (61) and TFLs (10). Wigfall even returned a punt for a touchdown.

69制片厂制作传媒淢y mindset changed a lot because it was my last time ever going out here and playing football, so I just had to go out and put it all out on the line,69制片厂制作传媒� Wigfall said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚 feel like my teammates were looking more up to me as the season went on. So I feel like I just had to step up and be the leader.69制片厂制作传媒�

69制片厂制作传媒淗e was just everything we needed him to be,69制片厂制作传媒� Cooper said.

For that, Wigfall has been named 2024 69制片厂制作传媒播 Athlete of the Year for his brilliance in all three phases of the game.

69制片厂制作传媒淗e69制片厂制作传媒檚 one of those guys that you69制片厂制作传媒檝e got to find a way to get the ball in his hands,69制片厂制作传媒� Cooper said. 69制片厂制作传媒淎 lot of teams, multiple times throughout the year, would bracket him and put one over the top and one pressing him. And so we had to move him around, move him in the slot. We put him in the backfield just to find a way to get the ball in his hands because he69制片厂制作传媒檚 gonna make big plays. And he69制片厂制作传媒檚 making plays on special teams, making plays on defense.69制片厂制作传媒�

In Cosby69制片厂制作传媒檚 two biggest regular season games of the year, Wigfall rose to the occasion.

The first game was against Cloudland, who had won 35 consecutive games in Region 1-A. Wigfall went off and caught three touchdowns and led the Eagles to a 27-26 win.

After having one of his best performances of the season, he still had one more play to make. Wigfall had already played nearly every snap of the game and was 69制片厂制作传媒渄og tired,69制片厂制作传媒� but the Eagles were forced to punt with a minute to go.

Cooper put him in at gunner and Wigfall made the tackle, which was crucial in Cosby ultimately getting the stop and sealing the win.

69制片厂制作传媒淚t meant everything to me,69制片厂制作传媒� Wigfall said.69制片厂制作传媒� It was crazy. It didn69制片厂制作传媒檛 even feel real after the game to have that many touchdowns. But I69制片厂制作传媒檓 just glad that we could do it as a team, because it was a really hard game for us, and I69制片厂制作传媒檓 glad we could pull it through.69制片厂制作传媒�

The next step was securing the region title in the Eagles69制片厂制作传媒� final regular season game against North Greene.

Wigfall had two touchdowns and two picks en route to a 26-14 win, rising to the occasion yet again.

69制片厂制作传媒淚 was just excited to be able to bring back the first (region title) ever,69制片厂制作传媒� Wigfall said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚t was exciting. And everybody in the locker room was calling everybody, and it was so fun, man. It was just something you can69制片厂制作传媒檛 explain, to be honest.

Cosby football was unable to get its first playoff win this season, but Wigfall69制片厂制作传媒檚 contributions as an athlete and a leader have set the tone for the program69制片厂制作传媒檚 upward trajectory.

Wigfall and the 2024 senior class will be known for making history at Cosby football, and now he leaves a standard of excellence for those who follow.

Obviously we69制片厂制作传媒檙e going to miss him, and he69制片厂制作传媒檚 a great young man,69制片厂制作传媒� Cooper said. 69制片厂制作传媒淗ow he grew into the leadership roles the way he did this year, we69制片厂制作传媒檙e going to miss that, and those are going to be some big shoes to fill next year, not to mention the production side of it on offense and defense. But great young man, great student, and I expect a lot of things from him.

69制片厂制作传媒淗e69制片厂制作传媒檚 a three-sport athlete, plays football, basketball and baseball, right now he69制片厂制作传媒檚 out competing on the basketball floor, and that69制片厂制作传媒檚 what he69制片厂制作传媒檚 about. He wants to go out and compete. I know he69制片厂制作传媒檚 going to do the best at everything he sets out to do, whether it be in school or after school, and I69制片厂制作传媒檓 proud to have gotten to coach him and having him be a part of our program.69制片厂制作传媒�
