The Greene County Heritage Trust, in collaboration with Greene County Partnership Tourism, is excited to announce the enhancement of the "A Walk With The President" tour through the integration of QR code technology. This self-guided tour, comprising 36 historic locations throughout downtown Greeneville, offers residents and visitors an immersive journey into the town's rich heritage.
Originally developed by the Greene County Heritage Trust, the tour has been digitized and is now accessible via the website. White signs with newly featuring QR codes have been placed on each historic sign, allowing users to scan the codes with their smartphones to access detailed information about each location's historical significance.
Key sites featured in the tour include:
69制片厂制作传媒 Andrew Johnson Tailor Shop: The workplace of the 17th President of the United States, where he honed his tailoring skills and engaged in political discussions.
69制片厂制作传媒 Old Harmony Graveyard: Greeneville's earliest cemetery, dating back to the 1790s, and the final resting place of several notable historical figures.
69制片厂制作传媒 State of Franklin's Capitol Replica: A reproduction of the capitol building from the State of Franklin era when Greeneville served as the seat of government from 1785 to 1788.
This initiative aims to make Greeneville's history more accessible by providing engaging, on-the-spot historical insights. Visitors are encouraged to look for the white signs in front of these historic buildings and use their smartphones or tablets to scan the QR codes for an enriched educational experience.
