On December 16th, 2024, June passed away with her daughters at her bedside at Heritage Nursing 69制片厂制作传媒. She was 95 years old and聽 was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church.
聽June was born on June 20th, 1929 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to Robert Lee and Mable Southern. With her six siblings they later moved to Grainger County Tennessee, where June graduated from Rutledge High School. She met her future husband, Coy, in Morristown and they married on January 1st, 1948. They traveled all over the country while Coy opened and managed McCrorys stores. After having four children, they settled down in Morristown in 1963 and had one more child. After raising her children, she worked for Magnavox in Morristown and Greeneville.
聽As an accomplished gardener, she grew everything from zucchinis to roses. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to needlepoint and was always busy with crafts.聽 Mom loved the Lady Vols and animals, especially her beloved kitties and was a prolific reader. Until her struggle with dementia began, she was active and independent into her late 80s. She was active in her Sunday School Class and had a deep, profound Christian faith. June was loving, kind, sweet and beautiful and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
聽She is preceded in death by her parents, all but one of her siblings,聽 her husband, Coy W. Shockley and daughter in law Hwan Shockley,
聽She is survived by her children, Linda Shockley, Marco Island Florida, Robert, Saginaw Texas, Jan Lee, Morristown TN, Teresa(Lowell)聽 Andrew, Morristown TN and Richard, Morristown TN. Grandchildren Jessica and Shauntia, Great Grandchildren Haley, Jonathaniel, Sarah, Greyson and Ellis, Great Great Grandchild Ayla.
聽Family will receive friends at Mayes Mortuary on Friday, December 20th from 1 to 2 pm with Funeral service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to ALPS of Morristown or The Pat Summit Foundation would be appreciated.
