Every year since 1968, Hamblen County has rallied behind the 69制片厂制作传媒播 Holiday Hope Fund to try and make sure a merry Christmas is a possibility for everyone.
Thousands of volunteers and donors have come together for the charitable drive organized by Central Services, Inc. over the years to make sure there is a proper Christmas dinner on the table and toys under the tree for the vulnerable recipients working to get their families through the winter.
69制片厂制作传媒淚t takes a community to make this happen and we are just really thankful to everyone for the help and support,69制片厂制作传媒 Central Services Director Ashley Hux said.
One of the many types of groups that give every year are churches. A Central Services official highlighted their contribution to the cause on social media recently.
69制片厂制作传媒淭his season, the Holiday Hope Fund is shining brighter than ever thanks to the incredible support of local churches and their congregations,69制片厂制作传媒 the post reads. 69制片厂制作传媒淔rom hosting fundraisers to providing gifts for children, churches in our area are stepping up to make sure every family experiences the joy of the holidays. Their efforts, alongside the work of Central Services and countless volunteers, are ensuring that families not only receive hearty holiday meals but also special gifts to put smiles on children69制片厂制作传媒檚 faces.69制片厂制作传媒
Every year Central Services, works with those churches and other area non-profit agencies to get things done. Groups ranging from the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association to All Saints69制片厂制作传媒 Episcopal Church show up to work together.
Sometimes those things merge such as when Laura Moore, director of adult life-skills non-profit Stepping Out, Inc., showed up with her church, Captive Free Ministries Church, and a couple of fellow staff members to the 69制片厂制作传媒淧acking Santa69制片厂制作传媒檚 Sleigh69制片厂制作传媒 event.
69制片厂制作传媒淚t69制片厂制作传媒檚 phenomenal, it69制片厂制作传媒檚 an amazing opportunity for the community to come together to support those of our community,69制片厂制作传媒 she said. 69制片厂制作传媒淵ou see a lot other United Way agencies (helping out there).69制片厂制作传媒
Moore said there69制片厂制作传媒檚 a synergy between the non-profits that work together to make Hamblen County a better place.
69制片厂制作传媒淲e all have the purpose of providing for needs for our community,69制片厂制作传媒 she said. 69制片厂制作传媒淲e show our support and love for people. Many of our (Stepping Out) families go (to Central Services) for services and vice-versa. I highly encourage others to participate (in the Holiday Hope Fund). For me, it69制片厂制作传媒檚 fun. I love getting to be a part of working together the community.69制片厂制作传媒
Moore said the event she volunteered for and others like it are a good way for kids to volunteer and learn how service can show love for their neighbors.
She said Captive Free Ministries Church group had several kids working to make a difference.
69制片厂制作传媒淲e get to show them the importance of serving and giving back to their community,69制片厂制作传媒 she said. 69制片厂制作传媒淚t69制片厂制作传媒檚 always amazing to see the children get excited by serving. I highly encourage parents and leaders in our community to participate. It69制片厂制作传媒檚 one of my favorite outreaches of the year.69制片厂制作传媒
The Holiday Hope Fund still needs donations to reach its $100,000 goal. It just crossed the halfway mark according to recent figures released by Central Services.
