DANDRIDGE69制片厂制作传媒 Morristown East clinched at least a tie for the District Two 3-A volleyball championship by sweeping past Jefferson County Tuesday night.
The Lady Hurricanes captured the win in straight sets, claiming wins of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-22 to improve to 11-5 for the season.
More importantly, it was the fifth district win against a single loss for Coach Leslie Clemmons69制片厂制作传媒 team and, coupled with West69制片厂制作传媒檚 victory at Cocke County, means they can do no worse than tie for the title as all the other teams now have at least three losses.
Jefferson County saw its record dip to 5-7 overall and 1-5 in district action.

East will play host to Knoxville Trailblazers on Thursday night before Morristown West comes to Isenberg-Siler Gym on Tuesday. The Lady Trojans dealt the Lady 69制片厂制作传媒楥anes their only district loss in the first meeting of the cross-town rivals.
As usual, Riley Forester and Hannah Hall led East69制片厂制作传媒檚 offensive attack. Forester knocked down 13 kills and Hall added 10 in the victory. Mackenzie Jarnagin added six, Addison Young five and Lelah Carter three.
Young served three aces while Forester and Tori Johnson had two apiece for the Lady 69制片厂制作传媒楥anes.
Hailey Potts nailed seven kills for the Lady Patriots while Mackenzie Leckie had five. McKenzi Morris had a couple of aces.
Forester had a kill and two aces as East grabbed a quick 4-1 lead in the first set and never trailed.
The home team was still in it at 8-6 after a kill by Leckie but the Lady Hurricanes took control with a 9-1 run. Jordan and Johnson had aces in the run while Hall and Young had kills and Jarnagin blocked a shot.
Jarnagin and Young added kills as the East lead ballooned to 19-8, Jefferson County got back within 20-13 but the Lady 69制片厂制作传媒楥anes closed out the set with kills by Forester and Jarnagin.
The Lady Patriots scored first in the second set but East grabbed a 4-2 lead. It was tied at 7-7 when a kill sailed out of bounds to give the home team an 8-7 lead.
However, East bounced back quickly as Hall had an ace in a 4-0 East run. The Lady Patriots came back again to tie at 15-15. But Young served an ace, Carter blocked a shot and Forester had a kill as East pulled out to lead 20-16.
Three errors by the Lady 69制片厂制作传媒楥anes and a kill by Alise Ballard got Jefferson within 21-20 but Forester had two kills and Hall added another as East closed the set with a 4-1 run.
East took control of the final set with a 9-0 run that turned a 4-2 deficit into an 11-4 lead as Hall scored six of the points. The home team rallied within 13-10 before the Lady 69制片厂制作传媒楥anes reeled off six straight points with half of them coming on kills by Forester.
But the Lady Hurricanes had trouble in finishing as Potts nailed three kills in a six-point run by the losers. Hall and Young then had kills and East69制片厂制作传媒檚 lead went back to six at 22-16.
However, a blocked shot, an ace by Potts and three hitting errors by East got the Lady Patriots within 21-20.
Jarnagin and Ballard traded kills before a net violation put East at match points. Young delivered an ace to end it.
