Following a big win over crosstown rival Morristown East, Morristown West was unable to continue its momentum, falling to Sevier County at home 3-1 (28-26, 25-23, 21-25, 25-16).
The Lady Trojans (4-3, 2-3 AAA District 2) were able to force the Bearettes into a trio of close sets, but they ultimately came out with just one win between the three.

Madison Singleton and Millie Van Resnburg led Sevier County with a combined 29 kills.
Despite putting up some big numbers in the attack, unforced serving and hitting errors kept the Bearettes close, allowing them to pull away late in sets.

The Lady Trojans got off to a good start in the first set thanks to a kill and an ace from Messer that put them up 6-2.
However, a Sevier County timeout quickly flipped the script. The Bearettes leaned on their front row and forced the home team into some hitting errors, resulting in an 8-0 run and a 10-6 hole for West.
The Lady Trojans ended the run, and the two sides traded blows before a Messer kill reduced Sevier County69制片厂制作传媒檚 lead to 16-15. But three kills from Singleton helped push the deficit back to 21-15.
However, West wasn69制片厂制作传媒檛 going away that easily. Messer and Sydney Shaver got a block that kicked off an 8-1 run that gave the Lady Trojans a 23-22 lead. Another Messer kill set up set point, but a serve error ended the opportunity as they lost the set 28-26.
In nearly identical fashion to the first, the second set started with a 6-3 lead before Sevier County stormed back to take an 11-9 lead.
West came back within a point at 16-15, but three consecutive kills from Singleton set the score at 19-15.
The Bearrettes continued to separate themselves when a block made it 23-17.
Once again, West was forced to claw back, and they did. It used a pair of Messer kills and a pair of Sydney Price aces to go on a 6-0 run to tie the match at 23, but the Lady Trojans were unable to keep the momentum going and fell into a 2-0 hole.
With its back against the wall, West continued to fight in an attempt to climb back into the match. The two sides stayed locked in a close set until a 9-1 West run gave the home team a 19-14 lead.
Sevier County threatened and came within three points, but West was able to hold on and avoid the sweep.
The fourth and final set seemed that it would play out in the same way the previous three had. The Bearrettes had a 14-13 lead in the middle of the set, but several errors helped them pull away to avoid the fifth set, using an 11-3 run to put the Lady Trojans away for good.
West has five days off to clean up the errors before hitting the road against Cocke County next Tuesday and returning home for a matchup with Jefferson County.
