John Edward Southern, born Nov. 22, 1947, passed away September 16, 2024 at his home in the Mulberry Gap Community of Hancock County at the age of 76. 聽
John gave his life to Christ and was baptized in 1959, joining Mulberry Gap Church. John was a lifelong farmer while also being retired from the zinc mines. He lived his entire life in Mulberry, leaving only to serve his country in the Army in 1972. He loved farm life and he especially loved his community and very much his country.
He took great pride in the successes of his children and grandchildren. He loved hearing the stories and funny antics told by them. The grandkids enjoyed going for rides with their Papaw Johnny on his 69制片厂制作传媒榮ide-by-side69制片厂制作传媒 through the hills and woods of Mulberry. His family was the most important to him.

Grandchildren, Emma Reed, Carson Reed, Grady Reed and Montserrat Southern. Brother Jerry Southern and wife Carrie. Nieces: Stephanie Shockley, Kelly Drinnon and Rebecca Smith.
The family would like to thank those who provided exceptional support and assistance to John for the past few years: Joy Horton, Jerry Hopkins, Holly and Madi Jo Short, Hope Williams, Stephanie McDaniel, niece Rebecca Smith, Erin May Collins and special little buddy Manny.
