Jefferson County authorities have seized 63 dogs from a Dandridge non-profit and charged a Dandridge woman with 55 counts of animal cruelty.
Monday morning, JCSO deputies with the Animal Control and Criminal Investigation Division responded to a residence at Argonnia Lane in Dandridge after Animal Control had been called on Friday to the residence - which is the location of "A Life 2go2 Rescue,69制片厂制作传媒 a non-profit that cares and boards animals.
CARE - Companion Animal Rescue and Education -responded to the scene to take possession of 63 dogs.听
Paula Whitt, age 58 ,of the Argonnia Lane residence, was detained and faces 55 counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty.
She has been transported to the Jefferson County Detention Center where she is being held .
As of Monday evening, the Investigation remained active and officials from CARE remained on the scene.
