SEVIERVILLE69制片厂制作传媒擬orristown East tuned up for next week69制片厂制作传媒檚 District Two 3-A Volleyball with a three-set sweep of host Sevier County Thursday afternoon.
The top-seeded Lady Hurricanes will carry a seven-game winning streak and a 16-5 record into the tournament after capturing a 25-10, 25-21, 25-23 decision on Thursday.
East took different paths to victory in all three sets. They scored the first five points in the opener and were never threatened and then had to come from behind for the other two wins including an incredible rally in the third set.
The Bearettes, who are now 10-11 for the season, had a seemingly commanding 22-16 lead when East fought back behind the serving of freshman Marlee Epps.
Addison Young put down a kill and then Epps served five straight points as the Lady 69制片厂制作传媒楥anes came back to tie at 22-22. Riley Forester had two kills and Tori Johnson scored on a block to highlight the rally.
Madison Singleton put the home team back ahead with a kill but Forester nailed another kill and served consecutive aces to end the match.
The tournament begins Monday when No. 2 Cocke County hosts No. 3 Morristown West in one match and Jefferson County plays at Sevier County in the other. Those two tied for No. 4 in the final standings.
On Tuesday the event moves to East with a pair of matches. The losers of Monday69制片厂制作传媒檚 games play each other in an elimination game at 5 p.m. before East plays the winner of Sevier and Jefferson.
Hannah Hall led East on Thursday with 13 kills and added a pair of aces.
Forester added a dozen kills and served a half-dozen aces, getting two in each set.
Young finished with three kills while Mackenzie Jarnagin and Lilabeth Jordan added two aces each.
Thanks to a strong third set, Singleton had 11 kills for Sevier County with Millie Van Rensburg adding eight.
First-year East coach Leslie Clemmons said, 69制片厂制作传媒淭hat was quite a comeback in the last set. Our freshman Marlee Epps came in there and got the job done with the serve for us.

In the opening set, Johnson served the first five points with Forester and Jarnagin getting kills. After the Bearettes scored, Forester had a pair of aces as East reeled off seven more points to a quick 12-1 lead.
Sevier County got it down to 14-7 but Hall and Jordan served two aces each and Forester had two kills as East went on a 10-1 spree to turn the set back into a rout.
The Bearettes grabbed an 8-4 lead in the second set and were still on top 10-7 when the Lady 69制片厂制作传媒楥anes took over with a 7-1 run. Young had a kill and block and Forester added a kill and two aces to lead the way.
Jarnagin served a pair of aces after the Bearettes scored and it was 17-12.
Kills by Singleton and Van Rensburg got the home team within 24-21 before a serve into the net ended it.
Singleton racked up eight kills as Sevier County controlled the third set until the final East rally.
The Bearettes grabbed a 5-2 lead and stretched the lead to seven on several occasions to set the stage for the Lady Hurricanes69制片厂制作传媒 comeback.
