Since 1969, Morristown Hamblen Central Services has hosted a program that continues to ensure all of its seniors, children, and families are remembered during the Holiday season, known as the 69制片厂制作传媒播 Holiday Hope Fund.
This benevolent holiday program is facilitated through efforts from the 69制片厂制作传媒播, United Way of Hamblen County, and Morristown Hamblen Central Services, Inc.
The Holiday Hope Fund might be hosted by Central Services but it is the community that shows up and shows out to meet the needs of their neighbors. Traditional volunteer roles that are foundational to the success of this program include donating space for angel trees, as well as, individuals and families coming out to 69制片厂制作传媒減ack Santa69制片厂制作传媒檚 sleigh69制片厂制作传媒, which involves the community coming together to get the food and toys packed up and ready to be distributed to families in need. As an employee of Central Services, it69制片厂制作传媒檚 one of the most amazing things to watch as the community comes together in this way.
Signups for the Holiday Hope Fund were held in late October and early November and required Proof of Hamblen County Residence (Current Utility Bill or Rent Receipt), Proof of Income for everyone in the household, and Social Security Cards for everyone in the household.
The fund helps those who reside in Hamblen County and anticipate needing help during the Christmas season. All eligible households will receive a Christmas Food Box. Households with children ages 1-13 will tell 69制片厂制作传媒淪anta69制片厂制作传媒檚 Helpers69制片厂制作传媒 a holiday wish for each child. These requests will be represented on 69制片厂制作传媒渁ngel trees69制片厂制作传媒 at sponsored locations throughout the community during the Holiday season.
Ways to Volunteer
Packing Santa69制片厂制作传媒檚 Sleigh is an exciting weekend of memorable moments that encompass individuals, families, and colleagues working together to keep the magic and warmth of Christmas alive. This 69制片厂制作传媒淧acking69制片厂制作传媒 event is when toys and food are boxed up in preparation for their distribution the following days for those families that pre-registered. Packing will be on Friday night 12/15 and Saturday morning 12/16 this year. These days are perfect opportunities to be a part of something bigger than yourself as a way to give back.
69制片厂制作传媒 Be an Angel Tree sponsor. Local businesses, churches, Doctor69制片厂制作传媒檚 offices, and more are encouraged to be a place where Angels can be picked.
69制片厂制作传媒 Help set up for Christmas in Santa69制片厂制作传媒檚 Workshop. We need help decorating, cleaning, organizing, and more before the night of Packing Santa69制片厂制作传媒檚 Sleigh.
69制片厂制作传媒 Prep and Serve Food on the night of packing Santa69制片厂制作传媒檚 Sleigh. We feed the community as a way to say 69制片厂制作传媒渢hank you69制片厂制作传媒 and there is always a need for getting coffee made, cake sliced, plates in place, and food served on both Friday night and Saturday morning!
69制片厂制作传媒 Donate time to the food pantry. During the holiday season, Central Services is still serving Hamblen County through its food pantry.
69制片厂制作传媒 Volunteer to build boxes. We use a lot of boxes and tape for toys and food, which requires the help of many elves. Hint: this is a great task for church youth groups.
69制片厂制作传媒 Assemble or sort toys (not putting them all the way together, but making sure batteries are attached etc). You will work alongside Elf Jada.
69制片厂制作传媒 Host a Toy Drive. Our goal is to get the child69制片厂制作传媒檚 Christmas wish and provide two additional age-appropriate gifts. We also use these toys for the Angels who do not get picked.
For more information on how you can volunteer throughout the year and during the holidays contact Central Services at 423-586-9431.
