RUTLEDGE 69制片厂制作传媒 Caden Baugh and Carson Quillen both rushed for over 100 yards to lead Greeneville to a 69-0 win over Grainger Thursday night at The Den.
Baugh, the Greene Devils69制片厂制作传媒 quarterback, had 136 yards on just three runs with two of those resulting in touchdowns. He also threw for a two scores. Quillen carried the ball six times for 126 yards and a pair of scores. Greeneville finished with 481 yards of total offense.
The Grizzlies had a hard time getting anything going against the Greene Devils69制片厂制作传媒 powerful defense which limited Grainger to 132 total yards. The home team kept things relatively close in the first quarter by trying to run the clock but in the end, it wasn69制片厂制作传媒檛 enough against the 5th-ranked team in the state in 4-A football.
Greeneville scored three times in the first quarter on the first play they ran on the drive and Grainger head coach Michael Manis talked about the offense firepower the Greene Devils have.
69制片厂制作传媒淭hey are super explosive and with all the film we watched on them, Greeneville is really hard to get on the ground. They are explosive on the sides and really aggressive up front. We tried to shorten the game as much as possible by keeping the ball on the ground.69制片厂制作传媒
Quillen had a 34-yard reception from Baugh for the first touchdown of the game and later in the first, he had a 48-yard run for a score. Baugh was off to the races on a quarterback keeper that covered 69 yards on his way to the end zone to make it 21-0 in the first quarter.
Jeriah Griffin scored twice for the Greene Devils, once on a three-yard run and on a 49-yard reception from Baugh to start the third quarter.
The Greene Devils showed its muscle when Taren Claridy picked off a pass and went 35 yards the other way to the end zone.
In addition to the big runs they had to start the game, Baugh added a 62-yard rushing score and Quillen tacked on a 37-yarder later on.
Some of the younger Devils got in on the action as Zayden Anderson caught a one-yard touchdown and Colton Smith was on the receiving end of a 15-yard throw and catch. Kicker Samuel Gourley was good on all nine of his extra points with the only miscue on Greeneville special teams coming on a muffed attempt by a backup kicker on the final touchdown.
Gage Wyatt found some running room against the Greene Devils on kickoffs as he finished with 52 yards and Jackson Richey added 24 yards.
