ETSU was picked third in the pre-season poll and received two first-place votes. The Bucs finished 19-16 last season which included a huge run in the conference tournament where they knocked off 2nd-seed UNC-Greensboro and 3rd-seeded Chattanooga to advance to the finals where they lost to top-seed Samford. Samford is predicted to win the league once more with Chattanooga coming in second in the pre-season poll.
Quimari Peterson and Jaden Seymour were named to the preseason All-SoCon team. Peterson was on the All-Tournament team last year as he averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals on the Bucs69制片厂制作传媒 run to the finals. He started all 35 games in 2023-24 and scored in double figures 24 times, eight times scoring over 20 points.
Seymour was a third-team All-SoCon selection last season after averaging 14.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest. The senior will eclipse the 1,000-point career mark this year as he enters the new season with 923 points. Seymour69制片厂制作传媒檚 stats shined most brightly in the conference games as he averaged 15.7 points and 5.6 rebounds against league opponents.
The Bucs will take on High Point in a charity exhibition game on Sunday, October 27 at 4 p.m. and start the regular season on Monday, November 4 against Newberry at Freedom Hall.
