The Samuel Doak Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, welcomed Hamblen County 911 Director Eric Carpenter who presented a very interesting program on the 69制片厂制作传媒淥verview of Services & the Future Plans of 911,69制片厂制作传媒 at First United Methodist Church69制片厂制作传媒檚 Cornerstone Building on Thursday.
Kay Senter introduced Director Eric Carpenter, who came to Hamblen County Emergency Communications District in September 2011, having served the city and county as their Emergency Management Director for 10 years prior.
Carpenter coordinates all activities of Hamblen County 9-1-1 to ensure supervision and management of the district69制片厂制作传媒檚 consolidated emergency communications resources. He provides oversight for dispatching services to public safety entities, strategic direction to ensure effective operations, and ensures that emergency communications are maintained in a state of readiness.
He completed the Center Manager Certification Program in 2015 and was certified as an Emergency Number Professional (ENP) in 2019. He is a member of the National Emergency Number Association and a Past President of the Tennessee Emergency Number Association. He also serves as Chairman of the Policy Advisory Committee for the Tennessee Emergency Communications Board and the Chairman of the United Way of Hamblen County69制片厂制作传媒檚 Emergency Food and Shelter Board.
In June, the national association awarded Hamblen County 9-1-1 its Partner in Education Recognition (P.I.E.R.) Award. Hamblen County is only the seventh 9-1-1 center in the nation to receive this honor and the first in Tennessee.
In September 2024, Director Carpenter was awarded the Clara Hitson Award from the Tennessee 9-1-1 Association. This award is presented to individuals who have not only excelled in their everyday job as a 9-1-1 Director but to individuals who have also gone above and beyond to provide vision, value, and leadership to their emergency communications centers through their commitment and work ethic. Clara Hitson Award recipients are individuals who went beyond the ordinary to protect Tennessee69制片厂制作传媒檚 citizens and property.
They have achieved exceptional and sustained results with respect to public safety communications and 9-1-1 which resulted in significant contributions to the public safety profession.
