A Morristown woman was charged Tuesday with Schedule VI drug violations, possession of paraphernalia, following too closely and violation of registration law after she was seen following a vehicle too closely.
Matisha Jonna Sanford, 22, was arrested by Hamblen County Deputy Sammy Swatzell.
According to a HCSO report, Swatzell saw a Toyota Camry, driven by Sanford, following the car in front of her too closely while flashing her headlights during a heavy traffic time after school. During a traffic stop, as Sanford was asked for her license and registration, Swatzell noticed a strong odor of marijuana. While searching the center console, Swatzell saw a marijuana grinder and a container of Zig-Zag Pre-Rolls.
Morristown Police came to the location to assist Swatzell in the search. The search of the car resulted in recovery of three bags of marijuana in various locations, eight THC dab pens, as well as four different denominations of money that had been rolled up like a straw. That money had powder substance on their surfaces as to have been ingested nasally.
After a secondary search of the vehicle, deputies recovered a total of 17.51-grams of marijuana in separate bags, eight THC dab pens, a marijuana grinder, two marijuana joints, a partially smoked joint and four currency bills that had a powder residue. Sanford was taken into custody.
